Sorry guys, we made a mistake on the last post. Our car is a mitsubishi emeraude, not a nissan.
We also wanted to let u know that it's complicated for us to put pics on the blog because we're using public computers and the blog only allows us to put on 5 pics at a time. Shane has been busy throwing out resumes, hopefully we'll hear something soon.
Here are some more interesting facts:
You can buy a case of beer (12) for $12 NZD.
They call sandals "Jandals"
There are very few bugs out here.
Doors are all left open and windows have no screens.
There are many people walking around barefoot on the streets.
The UV index has hit 12 and we're not sure if it's gonna go higher.
People can be a lot more blunt... especially on the radio and tv. They are not fans of political correctness (ex: The interviewer was blatantly calling a girl "fat" on tv. and they don't easily let overweight americans become citizens (bmi over 35).
The kiwi dollar is 68 cents to the Canadian dollar.
Gas has dropped to $1.30/L... at this pace next year gas will be free! yeah right!
Oh and a big good luck to Keye's volleyball team who will be playing in provincials in Souris this weekend. Play hard and don't get too mad.
That's all for now,
Shane and Ally

Hi Shally!
Just read all your blogs, have been away in Nevada & Arizona, would much prefer to be in NZ....when can I come?? Brad & Liz (+ Jax & Sir-Fry) are with us while renovations are underway in their new townhouse. Are you looking forward to your job Ally? Wonder if it will be different from Canada? Good luck with your job search Shane... wonder what you will come up with!!! Back to the work grind!!! What an adventure you have had, sounds too good to be true actually. Am jealous. Take care & hope to hear from you guys soon. Much love, Trish
PS Gas here is .84/l was $1.90 US in the States. HAVE YOU HEARD OF OUR POLITICAL CRISIS?? In Polish it is perogy (actually perorogue??)
Hi Guys:
Once you have a permanent address, do let me know so I can mail you your dumb hat, and an excellent Jim Lees 2009 calendar with which you can amaze your new friends.
And Shane, very clever of you to let Ally find a good paying job with which she can support you in the custom to which you are, well, accustomed.
And, now, I close off, with time to feed the cat, the dog, and myself in order to steel my nerves for the coming (rainy) day.
Bye guys.
Uncle Boo
Gas in Edmonton: 0.65!
